Updated visitor policy at Middlemore Hospital
Visitor screening is no longer taking place at Middlemore Hospital and our other facilities as this is not required at Alert Level 1. We do ask whaanau if you could please use the NZ COVID Tracer app to scan our QR code each time you visit our hospital and clinics. This code will be displayed at the entrances to all our sites.
We also ask visitors to use hand gel when entering the hospital, adhere to our visiting policy, and to stay home and call Healthline on 0800 611 116 if you feel unwell. Here's one of our nurses Denyse with more information on our visitor policy.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
