Discover the heritage of Kohuora Park - guided walk event
Join the Papatoetoe Historical Society and the community ranger team on an interactive and educational guided heritage walk through Kohuora Park. Hear about the past and present history of Kohuora including its geology, Māori and early European settlements, ecology, and natural environment. The site is rich in stories that reflect the past use of the reserve. Follow the boardwalk through the wetland area, look for and identify native and introduced birds, eels, and plants. You'll even learn how some of these plants are used today.
When: Tuesday 6th Oct 1.30pm- 3.30pm
Where: Meet at the main carpark area, off Station Road, Papatoetoe
Who: General public with a reasonable level of fitness. Suitable for ages 10+ (all children must be kept under parental supervision)
What to bring: sturdy walking shoes, sunhat and a face mask if you prefer
Cost: Free (bookings essential, spaces limited to 30 people)

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
