Hillsborough nurse nets award
Helen Cohen has been named New Zealand's Nurse of the Year.
After half a century of nursing, Cohen has been recognised by Geneva Staffing for her service to the medical industry during the International Year of the Nurse.
The Metlifecare's Hillsborough Heights Village manager helped vulnerable elderly people during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
This was just part of her job and her commitment to those in her care, Cohen said.
"It's still my passion even after all these years," she said.
" I go home with my hand on heart knowing that I've done the best I can do.
"I love making a difference."
Poll: Is it rude to talk on the phone on a bus?
Buses can be a relaxing way to get home if you have a seat and enough space. However, it can be off-putting when someone is taking a phone call next to you.
Do you think it's inconsiderate for people to have lengthy phone calls on a bus? Vote in the poll, and add your comments below.
