Samsung Galaxy A51 from PBTech

Geraldine from Te Atatu South

On the 10th June 2021, I visited PB Tech, Henderson, with my newly bought mobile phone( under warranty) A51 for repair. I was told by the person at the Repair and Service desk that I would get my phone back in a week. After 10 days I rang P B Tech to enquire about the status of the repair. I was told that they would find out and ring me back. No call came. Then after two days, I rang again. This time I was told that my phone has been repaired and is waiting for a pick up from Samsung , main office. They said that I would get it in a few days time, and that no charged has been registered. No call came and I was waiting patiently. Then I received a call at work to say that it would cost $200 for the repair and If I was interested in getting the phone repaired. I replied that I was told that it was already fixed and that there was no charge. I also informed him that I would consider it and call him back. That evening I called PB Tech and asked them to proceed with the repairs. I was then informed that they would charge me only the charge that Samsung would charge. Then got a call after a week telling me it is ready for pick up. They charged me $178.00 including GST. I paid the amount and noticed that screen protector was missing. I then asked for it and PB Tech did not have one. I had to wait another 3 days to get it by courier post.(on Monday) Then on Sunday, today , I went to PB Tech and spoke to the Repair and service personnel. It was 3.50pm. I asked if he could please put the screen protector on. I gave him the whole package which had the phone and the invoices and the screen protector. He immediately said that there would be a charge. This annoyed me and I told him that he had not returned my phone with the screen guard protector on. He the rudely said," Why the f**** did you not tell me before. I then said that he should not speak to me like that. He was quiet and I told him that that he owes me an apology. He replied that it is best that we do not speak and that he would get the work done. He did it and I left PB tech. This has app. taken me a month and a half to get my phone fixed. This cost was part under warranty and part for water damage.
I write this review as a disgruntled customer. This should not happen to anyone else and PB Tech must check on the personnel they employ.

What workplace change would you like to see most?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

This coming Monday is Labour Day in New Zealand. This public holiday marks when the eight-hour workday and 48-hour workweek became law in 1899. The idea started with Samuel Parnell, a carpenter in Wellington, who in 1840 refused to work more than eight hours a day. Since skilled workers were in short supply, his employer had to agree.

As more skilled workers arrived, employers tried to change working conditions, but Parnell and others kept pushing for better rights. In 1890, Parnell led a Labour Day parade of 1,500 people to promote the eight-hour day. He passed away shortly after, and nine years later, Labour Day became an official public holiday.

Do you feel that we have reached the ideal in working environments yet? What rights are you passionate about relating to employment? Share your thoughts!

Poll: Does grocery bagging affect where you shop?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

There's only a few differences between our larger chain supermarkets here in New Zealand. Having someone bag your groceries is one of them.

Does having your groceries packed for you at the checkout influence where you do your grocery shop? If so, tell us why.
