New bus services for West Auckland – on their way

Yeshe Hegan from New Network- West Auckland

We are only days away from introducing a new bus network for West Auckland. On Sunday 11 June everything about the bus network is changing, including new bus routes, new route numbers and new timetables.

It has been a few busy weeks telling bus customers about the changes to get them ready for day one. This has included:

• Delivering the information brochure and local bus timetables to 97,000 households
• Creating “Get Ready” videos in Mandarin, Cantonese, Samoan, Hindi and English languages
• Putting up change posters at 513 bus stops and posters at the bus stops that will close
• 170 new bus stops have been installed or relocated
• AT staff and Ambassadors at key bus stops across West Auckland helping customers plan their new journeys

These changes also affect a number of services, including Sandringham Rd, New North Rd, Greenhithe, Blockhouse Bay and some North Shore buses that originate from West Auckland.

School bus services - Some school bus services are changing too. Check online for your child’s new school bus timetable.

Bus stop changes - Find out which bus stops will close to regular bus services from 11 June.

Come talk to us - You can also come along to one of the remaining information events before the launch:

• Tuesday 6 June at Westgate Shopping Centre, outside Burger King, 6.30am to 11am
• Wednesday 7 June at Henderson Interchange, noon-18:30
• Thursday 8 June at 99 Albert Street, 14:30-18:30

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.

When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
