Cat goes missing in Hauraki while owner takes lockdown stroll

Ripu Bhatia Reporter from North Shore Times

A black and white shorthair cat called Meow has gone missing in Hauraki and his owner is desperate to get him back.

Hauraki resident Deanne Read was walking along Waitemata Road when Meow disappeared at around 3.30pm on Monday.

“We were going for a stroll around the block, and he just got lost along the way,” she said.

Read is currently pregnant and said Meow has been a great companion for her.

“I love that cat. He’s super friendly and loud, please keep an eye and an ear out for him!”

Has anyone seen Meow?

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
