Special Howick homecoming for our NZ music great, Sat arvo, 3-4pm on East FM
New Zealand music legend John Hanlon is the in-studio guest on tomorrow’s She’ll Be Right on Saturdays Show with PJ Taylor, 3-7pm (NZ time) September 3 on East FM.
We’re excited to be talking with John between 3pm and 4pm, as we’ll further explore his most recent album, Naked Truths (Ode, 2021), that we featured a few months ago, with all its 23 songs.
It’s a remarkable body of work by such an accomplished composer and artist, superbly produced and arranged by Bruce Lynch and Russell Finch, who play throughout along with Rex Goh, and there are cameos by fellow musicians Dean Kerr and Lewis McCallum.
It’ll be great to have John Hanlon in the East FM studio, in Howick, where he grew up and it all started for him as a singer-songwriter and musician in the 1960s and 1970s, leading to the big-selling singles and Kiwi Music Gold Discs and career that has delivered 10 albums to date. See johnhanlon.co.nz
We’ll also take the usual tour of the musical neighbourhoods, on the She’ll Be Right Show with PJ that beams out of East FM, East Auckland’s community-powered public service radio station, on local frequencies 88.1FM and 107.1FM, nationally and globally at www.eastfm.nz... and on app iHeart Radio.
East FM is proudly the official broadcaster for www.howick175.co.nz...

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.

Stunning Outdoor Transformation – Before & After"
Check out this incredible project where we tackled everything from agapantha removal and walkway cleanup to concrete installation and fresh garden beds! Our team also added some beautiful timber edging, riverstone accents, and gave the fence a brand-new look with fresh paint. We love seeing the difference a well-planned makeover can make!
