Monster wasp nest
Well, after a (relatively) quiet couple of summers, the vespula wasps have come back big time in some locations! Auckland and the Waikato are reporting big numbers and you may have seen this story about the monster nest found just outside of Nelson. Highwic Pop-up Christmas Shop
The annual Highwic Pop-up Christmas shop opens on Friday 29th November, 1pm – 4pm (join us for complimentary drinks, Christmas mince pies, and croquet on the lawn), and runs through until Sunday 22nd December.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
