Onehunga Festival this weekend!

Cathy McIntosh from Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board

Just in case it wasn't already in your diary for this weekend, here is a reminder that the Onehunga Festival is on this weekend!.
Get along to this free all family event.

Celebrate Summer in Onehunga with a free family day of entertainment, amusements and activities including Little Bo Beeps Mobile Farm, pony rides, bouncy castles, water walkers and face painting just to name a few.

Enjoy food from 'Onehunga Bites' food stalls and music from headline acts White Chapel Jak and Anuanua plus much more!

Leave the car at home, and walk or bike to this event. There'll be bike parking and an on-site bike mechanic.

Bring a reusable drink bottle to refill at our water stations so you can stay hydrated throughout the day.

A big thank you to our sponsors Maungakiekie-Tamaki Local Board, Onehunga Business Association, Panuku Development Auckland, Transpower, The Trusts Community Fund, Dress Smart, Denise Lee National MP for Maungakiekie and Suzanne Thomas of Ray White Epsom.

This event would not be possible without support from Onehunga Community Patrol, The 312 Hub, Onehunga Community News and Kiwanis.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
