OPp ARt - Somervell Church 18-20 October. Auckland Art Week
Photographic images of original art works featuring re-purposed apparel, up-cycled accessories, jewellery and original painting will be projected onto Somervell Presbyterian Church's spire over three nights, from 18-20 October. Each tells stories of abandonment, salvage and renewal.
The projection of photographs advances the idea of leaving as light a footprint as possible. We are prompted to consider that every action leaves a trace, a theme found in the world of art, the field of forensics and in the waste that we experience every day.
Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
