Gull steps in to save Santa Parade
Gull New Zealand has wrapped up an early Christmas present for parade organisers by supporting the parade for the next two years. The announcement follows Auckland Council's withdrawal from sponsorship of the event.
Dave Bodger, Gull general manager says: "Leaving an iconic event like this in jeopardy is Grinch-like and quite simply not on. "We had a quick chat this morning and the Gull team all agreed we needed to help, so we did.
"It's Christmas after all." Auckland Children's Chistmas Parade Trust's Michael Barnet said he is "absolutely floored, hugely thankful and relieved". "We can now have an amazing time next Sunday knowing we have secure funding going forward. Many thanks to the Gull team for such a quick decision and making the call."

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
