On Your Marks, Get Set, WHOA

Andrea from Eden Terrace

When lined up to start a track race, we all have equal footing. What gives one business leader more momentum than another?
There are stories in the news that make school aged children more successful in their start ups, than managers who have been in business for 20 years or more. The mentality that these students have is portrayed as they 'saw an idea and pursued it'. The news storys have the reader believe that there was no prior experience to starting a business than just doing it. Until you read a little deeper. The student was studying commerce or economics. The importance of seeing an opportunity and applying the beginning of a business, perhaps determines who leaves the mark the fastest, and without the ceiling of expectation, who reaches the finish line first. Understanding that it takes a willingness to be open to worth- risk, to spending time researching an idea, following a successful formula, and then presenting your business to the public means you got off your mark and aimed only for the finish line, regardless of who lined up with you.
My work experiences, both permanent and as a Temporary, have given me traction in varying economic climates. I was always lined up on the same starting blocks as the Temp agencies that I worked with placed me, it was my ability to see the finish line that gave me the advantage. With or without their support, I finished every assignment.
To all of you, who have started out in business and stayed on track, taken the time to post of your journeys and successes are inspiring. Thank you.
