Police officer knocked detainee unconscious with excessive force
A man was knocked out by a custody officer after he was flung against a wall at the Counties Manukau District Custody Unit in April 2017. The Independent Police Conduct Authority ruled the custody officer used excessive force and failed to provide the man with adequate care for his injuries. The custody officer remains in the police force and will undergo an employment investigation.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.

Dead cat
I saw a dead cat on Everglade Drive this morning near the crossing of Keri Anne place. It had been placed near the pavement. Black and white colour. Young. Did not look like it had been dead too long. If you know anyone who is looking for a cat, please inform.
