SkyCity fire: Has your flat-faced dog or cat been affected by the smoke?
Hi neighbours. The SPCA is asking animal owners in the CBD to take precautionary measures to prevent pets from breathing in smoke from the SkyCity Convention Centre fire. These include bringing pets indoors and making sure they stay out of smoke, keeping windows closed and shutting down external ventilation if smoke is being drawn into your building. The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
