SPCA calls for help in case of abandoned cats: Long Bay, Auckland
Recognise these cats?
The SPCA is appealing to the public for information after two female cats were dumped in a locked cage without food or water in Long Bay.
The tortoiseshell cats were abandoned on the side of the road on Wednesday in Long Bay Regional Park, Auckland.
An SPCA field officer rescued the animals after being alerted by a member of the public.
It is unknown how long the cats had been there.
They are about four years old and are not micro-chipped.
Both are in good health being cared for by SPCA Auckland staff.
Phone 09 256 7300, press 1 for welfare and ask for Inspector Andre Williams if you have any information.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
