Drive-In cinema opens tomorrow night...

Kate from Meadowbank

Looking for some covid-friendly, family-friendly/date-friendly fun? Check this out.... thedrivein.nz...

A dear friend of mine has turned a rancid Covid lemon into a huge serve of burgers and ice-cream for all of us...

(She’s not on neighbourly yet so I’m posting on her behalf)

Anna Hood and her business partner Vinnie Sherry, run Campbell+Co, an events business in NZ (Diner en Blanc, etc). Covid-19 has pulled the proverbial handbrake on their thriving business - as it has for so many businesses.

So … in a cool example of courage, innovation & quick action, Anna and Vinnie have launched Drive-In Cinema (thedrivein.nz...) at the ASB Stadium in Auckland, with sponsor AA Smartfuel.

Starting tomorrow, it’s 23 sessions across 10 days. You stay in your car, pre-ordered food is brought to you, contactless of course (Burger Burger and Ben&Jerry’s) and you get to watch a cool movie.

Go get those tix and support a local biz while getting your burger on

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
