Update: Freedom-camping at Little Shoal Bay

John Gillon from John Gillon - Kaipatiki Local Board

Last week the Kaipātiki Local Board requested increased enforcement of freedom campers at Little Shoal Bay Reserve over the coming Summer. As part of this, Little Shoal Bay has been added as a "hot spot" for council's compliance team to visit over Summer, and new signage has been installed to alert campers that it is illegal to park-up overnight in the reserve.
The Local Board's request for the carpark chains to be locked overnight, or for new vehicle gates to be installed, is being processed.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
