Music of Rob Joass and Hobnail on East FM today Saturday from 3pm

Phil from Farm Cove

Rob Joass is a songwriter who wears his heart on his sleeve – and come to think about it, he wears other people’s hearts on the other sleeve – and to celebrate a milestone for him this week, the earthly accomplished music of Rob Joass features on this arvo’s She’ll Be Right on Saturdays Show with PJ Taylor, 3-7pm (NZ time) on East FM.
Rob’s a clever songwriter, gifted in the art of stringing excellent note combinations and chord progressions together that are easy on the ear, have you singing and tapping your feet on the up-tempo songs, and have you thinking in the emotive panoramic ballads. All bound together by honest stories and wordsmith crafting.
He’s from the Paul Kelly style of songwriting, with the ability to pen interesting tales and about everyday feelings in easily relatable words.
He’s a true Australasian, an Anzac, being born across the Tasman in the Great Southern Land, and he’s also lived half his life in New Zealand.
Rob’s music, either solo or with his band Hobnail, who’ve always played great shows in Howick down the years, get regular play on the She’ll Be Right Show and we’ll spin tracks from his solo albums Pencarrow, Black and White, and from Hobnail albums Blue Sky Songs, String Things, Baggage and On With The Show. www.hotmail.co.nz... – Classic Celtic Country Folk (and a whole lot more Alt-Country).
We’re also talking live to Rob in a phone interview to Wellington at 5pm.
We’ll also take our usual tour of other musical neighbourhoods on the She’ll Be Right Show with PJ on East FM, East Auckland’s soulful community-powered public service radio station, on 88.1FM and 107.1FM on local frequencies, nationally and globally on www.eastfm.nz... and on app iHeart Radio.
Looking forward to being locked down in the East FM studio from 3pm – it’s all about the vibe; it’s all about the groove. – PJ, maybe bringing back the long-haired look after all… feeling for the hairdressers…

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
