Business of Toast with David Downs

Libby Boyd from Devonport Rotary Club

David tells his story about beating cancer with Optimism and Science.

David now describes himself as a genetically modified organism after his battle with terminal cancer; firstly in NZ with an escalating range of chemotherapy treatments, then the amazing luck that got him to Boston, USA to be part of a clinical trial for a radical new type of cancer treatment.

This isn’t a boring cancer talk though, it’s a story of optimism and of living life and you will laugh a lot!

He’s an ex-comedian, TV and Radio actor, author of three books; No.8 Re-wired, No 8 Recharged and A Mild Touch of The Cancer

In his ‘day job’, David Downs is a General Manager at New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE).

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Do you think this ban is reasonable?
