City Centre Residents - Last Meeting for 2022!
Monday 12 December
6pm Ellen Melville Centre
What a year - some endings and quite a few new beginnings - certainly in the city centre.
Throughout all this city centre residents remain - resilient, and optimistic.
And CCRG have continued to raise a voice for residents, to a wide range of groups, across an even wider range of interests and matters that can impact us.
Come along going us for our last meeting for 2023:
Sindy Xian from the Census team will update on Census 2023.
Andrew Carline, who is wanting to get a permanent market set up around Queens Wharf or similar waterfront location.
A kōrero around city centre priorities for the coming year.
To assist with this, we've invited:
Auckland Central MP Chlöe Swarbrick
Waitematā Ward Councillor Mike Lee
Waitematā Local Board members
to provide an overview of their key issues or focus areas.
The discussions will then be quite informal and we can share some Christmas kai to wind up a very busy year.

Smoke in Mt Wellington
Smoke has been seen coming from the crater of the Auckland maunga Mt Wellington.
Images of the smoke began appearing on social media on Friday afternoon.
Around 1.45pm, Fire and Emergency (Fenz) shift manager Josh Pennefather told the NZ Herald a crew was fighting a fire of about 60 square metres in size.
”It’s spreading up hill … [but] there’s no property at risk at this stage,” Pennefather said.
Six fire trucks were in attendance working to contain a grass fire that's spreading up the maunga.
A helicopter was on its way to assist firefighting efforts, he added.
At 2pm, Pennefather shared that the fire was contained and they were working to extinguish it, including “keeping an eye on a whole bunch of hot spots“.
