Fireworks display cancelled
Were you planning on attending? Masterton’s traditional fireworks display, run by the Lions Club, is being cancelled this year due to slashing of funding.
This is the first time in 20 years there will be no public fireworks display. Lions Club says “We are all disappointed, it is a huge family day and a safe way to celebrate a traditional event and enjoy fireworks.”

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
