Heavy snow may disrupt travel in affected areas and could damage trees and power lines. Cold conditions may cause stress for livestock.
Area: Fiordland, south of George Sound.
Valid: 7 hours from 9:00am to 4:00pm Monday.
Forecast: A further 5 to 10cm or more of snow is forecast to accumulate above 400 metres on top of what has already fallen.
Area: Clutha, and Southland including Stewart Island.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
