Marriage automatically invalidates any previous will (unless the will was made while you were planning this marriage).
If you already have children, you need a new will. Otherwise, all your possessions (including furniture, vehicles, heirlooms, animals, etc, except business items) and the first $155,000 of your money/land/investments (plus 1/3 of the rest) will automatically go to your new spouse. There may also be unexpected issues about who is a 'child'. Just make a will (please). You can do it here and now. Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
