Auckland Council seeks public opinion on proposed $150m Kohimarama village

Locals have a chance to share their thoughts on a proposal for a new $150 million retirement village in Kohimarama.

Ryman Healthcare wants to build the comprehensive care facility at 223 Kohimarama Rd and 7 John Rymer Pl, which is next door to Selwyn College.

The village will include a 98-bed hospital, 75 assisted living suites, 123 apartments, 192 car parks, two van parking spaces; and 15 bike bays.

But the council’s urban design panel is calling for Ryman to make changes to its designs to minimise the visual impact.
