Te Herenga Waka o Orewa is a pan-tribal, multi-cultural community facility that exists to support and provide opportunities for Māori and non Māori who may want to draw physical, cultural and spiritual strength through a connection with a community marae. Te reo Māori me wōna tikanga (the Māori language and its relevant processes) underpin all facets of our operation. We aim to promote the marae as a traditional and contemporary learning institution, welcoming community groups, businesses, schools, families, mana whenua and other tribes to utilise the marae. We offer cultural advice and services to local and central government, community groups, schools, businesses and the general public. We also promote whānau ora, health and family wellbeing through our two health clinics.
