Tawa Orchestra is organised as a night class at Tawa College and is part of their adult and community education program. It is designed to encourage and advance individual's musical abilities through practice and performance of a wide range of classical and popular music. Although the group starts at the beginning of the year new members can join through out the year. A minimum of Grade 5 experience is required and practice is expected. The orchestra is always in need of string players (we currently have no double bass, bassoon or oboe). So dust off those expensive instruments you have sitting in the cupboard and come and join us - there is no audition! You'll be surprised how quickly it all comes back to you. We are a sociable bunch and our young talented conductor - Andrew Atkins - makes the rehearsals fun.
