Wellington Airport is about to start work this week on preparations for the new EMAS at each end of the runway:
"The first phase of the project is to prepare the runway for installation. This will involve cutting through sections of the current runway to install ducting so that lighting can be shifted, and preparing to realign some of the runway entry and exit points."
This work will be taking place overnight - efforts will be made to minimise noise from the works. If you need to contact them about nosie issues please refer to the webpage below or ring 0508 AIRNOISE.

Also very sincere thanks to former trustee Stephanie Rakuraku for taking on the role in its formative years - you represented all of the Eastern ward so well and so much was achieved. Finally, another very big thank you to Yvonne Weeber of Guardians of the Bays for filling in during the changeover between trustees.
The next funding round runs from 1-31 August - check out the Fund webpage for more information if you run a programme or similar that is looking for funding.

In response to a query from one of our residents Wellington Water have confirmed the following regarding making a complaint about the Moa Point plant:

Complaints to the Moa Point Wastewater Treatment plant can be sent to the following contact details:
Veolia Duty Manager (First Point of Contact): Call 0800 928 371.
Veolia’s duty manager contact number operates 24/7 - as such complaints can be directly forwarded to them especially if the complaint is urgent and/or happened after office hours.

Wellington Water: Call 04 912 4470 or email customer@wellingtonwater.co.nz.

For Environmental and Pollution 24-hour hotline, call Greater Wellington Regional Council Hotline at 0800 496 734.

When a complaint is made, the following information will be recorded:
Name
Contact details of the customer
Nature of the complaint
Date and time
Location
Complaints shall be actioned within 24 hours upon receipt and the records being written to the plant’s operational incident log.

Odour and/or wastewater discharge complaints will be forwarded to the regional council.

Wellington City Council is seeking comment on the new LTP and Annual Plan.
"Our LTP outlines to our communities how we intend to use rates, borrowing, and other funding to improve and maintain Pōneke for the next 10 years. Each year, the Council also produces an Annual Plan which sets rates, fees, and charges for the upcoming year, as per the direction set in the LTP."
