It’s a great occasion … View moreOnehunga Christmas Lights is a spectacular, annual event being held once again in Jellicoe Park, between 7-9 pm on Friday 2 December. The Onehunga Christmas Lights is a much anticipated date in the event calendar, which is supported by the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board. It’s a great occasion for families and the community to come together and celebrate the start of the festive season. We'll sing plenty of your favorite Christmas carols.
There will be face painters, games and sports run by the local YMCA from 6pm on-wards, and do not forget to visit Santa’s Grotto at the event. Bring a picnic or choose from the delicious food stalls.
The performances start at 7pm, which will include groups from Royal Oak Primary School, Golden Grove School, Onehunga Primary School, and Royal Oak Intermediate School. The Onehunga High School Jazz Band and the Dalewood Youth Brass Band will also be performing.
The evening will finish off with the traditional lighting of the tree at 9pm.
