People First New Zealand is a Disabled People's Organisation (DPO) which means we are run by and for people with learning disability. Our work makes sure people with learning disability have and know their rights and that our communities are inclusive across Aotearoa New Zealand.
All our work focuses on encouraging people with learning disability to speak up about what matters in their lives. As well as our self-advocacy groups we have a range of services that encourage a more inclusive society for people with learning disability, based on the rights of disabled people. Our services are for people with learning disability, their family and whānau, and supporters, as well as organisations committed to hearing the voice of people with learning disability and ensuring their information is inclusive.
Our monthly meeting for Hamilton is held the last Thursday of every month at the Hamilton Central Library in the Kathleen Glenn Meeting Room at 11am.
Our next meeting is Thursday August 29! Please reach out with an email if you need more information!
