Ōtara's Christmas in the Carpark is funded by the local board and normally attracts up to 8000 people.
And the weather is expected to fine with temperatures of up to 24 degrees predicted - so bring plenty of water and a sun hat.
Auckland Transport is advising people who usually travel by train to plan ahead and make alternative travel arrangements on Friday 8 December.
No trains will be operating from 2am on Friday until 2am on Saturday because of industrial action.
