From the council:

We are continuing to prepare for forecast heavy rainfall in the city overnight and tomorrow morning.

The predicted rainfall means there is a possibility of surface flooding on roads so our contractors will be closely monitoring the situation with crews deployed across the city.

We are also carrying out geotechnical monitoring in the Port Hills with engineers on standby.

Contractors have been out onsite today clearing grates and making sure the drainage network is operating as it should be.

We will be keeping a close eye on forecasts in case they change again, and will update the Council’s NEWSLINE and Facebook page as required.
