Our mission is to provide educational opportunities and research resources for the development of knowledge, skills and practice in family history, genealogy and whakapapa for members and the wider community. The New Zealand Society of Genealogists was established in 1967 by a small group of family history enthusiasts. In the 56 years since, we are firmly established as a national entity enjoying a strong and supportive membership base, with 60 Branches and Affiliated groups. The organisation is an incorporated society (CC22120), governed by a Board of Directors and has a national office and research library located in Panmure, Auckland.
