We hope to be able to open the transfer stations at Alert Level 2 (pending further government guidance) and are making preparations to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19, such as contactless payment, traffic management plans and a system to track all visitors to site.
We expect transfer stations to be very busy when they do open, and may require people to make appointments to visit and use the transfer stations. Keep and eye on our Facebook page, www.mpdc.govt.nz... or install the Antenno app for updates.

We have had heaps of reports about doggy doo being left behind on footpaths and reserves throughout the district. If you are walking your dog, please bring a pooper scooper or bag and dispose of it in the nearest rubbish bin.
Also please remember to keep your dogs on a leash at all times, even in areas where it is normally isn't required. It will help to keep your pet inside your bubble :)

They are the official volunteer agency during the pandemic. They will be able to match your skill set and your location to the right jobs that need to be done.
They may take a while, but they will get back to you!

The kerbside changes come into effect from this week. In brief, the kerbside trucks are only coming once a fortnight on your usual recycling day. All of your rubbish and recycling is to be bagged and put in your recycling bin, so the truck's mechanical arm can pick it it all up. All rubbish is to be put in the official Council bags and all recycling in any other bag (bin liners, taped up paper bags, bread bags, etc). Any rubbish bags left on the ground will not be picked up. Refuse transfer stations are closed. From this week we are setting up pop up rubbish disposal sites. Please click the 'Read More' button to find the answers to our Frequently Asked Questions around rubbish and recycling, including the times, days and locations of our pop up sites. We are providing regular updates on our Facebook page and via the Antenno app. Please call any neighbours, friends, family who aren't online, to share the news. Thank you.
