The Manawatu Rose Society is dedicated to promoting and growing the world's favourite flower - the rose. Our members have gardens large and small with roses a prominent plant although members have a wide range of gardening interests. Members meet monthly (except January) for guest speakers, table shows and demonstrations with social events also arranged. Garden visits are arranged during the summer months. Members receive monthly newsletters with news and views on growing roses plus a copy of the New Zealand Rose Annual and New Zealand Rose Review annually. They also recieve a copy of the Cultural Handbook filled with information on growing roses upon joining. A Rose Show is held in November each year where members can exhibit blooms across a range of classes while members also compete as a society in the 'Rose Ranfurly' each March against other local rose societies. Members are also involved in judging the International Rose Trial Grounds.
