Hastings District Council and other agencies are keen to form a Neighbourhood Support group in Mahora. This actually will involve many Mahora NS street groups as the concept involves a small group of neighbours forming a unit that shares security and awareness within their immediate area.
Kevin Tinker is willing to coordinate the first steps and has experience in the Police, Hastings Community Patrol, Red Cross, Urban Search and Rescue and Security Liason. He distributed several hundred flyers in letter drops beginning of 2016.
A public meeting was held in May 2016 and once more interest is shown, we can progress to make criminals think carefully before entering or living in Mahora. If interested, please contact John Dawson at Hastings District Council or Kevin through this means or at nztinker@globe.net.nz
