Havelock Lions Club are proud to bring Copper Mine Junction back to Havelock for a lively evening of music and dancing. The Nelson- based musicians play banjo, mandolin, guitar, fiddle and upright bass - bluegrass rhythms, thoughtful Americana classics and Old Timey tunes.

The Nelson- based musicians play banjo, mandolin, guitar, fiddle and upright bass - bluegrass rhythms, thoughtful Americana classics and Old Timey tunes.
They were very popular when they last played play in Havelock in 2019 with the audience clamouring for more and the Band was happy to oblige
The evening is a fundraiser for the Pelorus Community Pre-School who are raising funds to refurbish their premises in light of the increased numbers. The pre-school will be selling suppers at the event. The seat will be café style.

LEO Club embers are community minded school students who like to serve their Community. The Rai Valley LEO Club is sponsored by Havelock Lions and has been running for over two years.

The Rai Valley LEO Club is sponsored by Havelock Lions and has been running for over two years.
They are running a Quiz Night at Rai Valley Tavern. Half of the funds raised will purchase equipment for Rai Valley Voluntary Fire Brigade and the other half will assist the entire school in funding a field trip.
At this time, they are looking for donations of prizes for the evening. They are not looking for small items which will add some more fun to the evening.

Havelock Lions are wanting to sponsor youths who live in the Pelorus area and are interested in entering the District Speech contests (see poster below). There are two categories- Emerging Speech Makers (Years 9 -12) and Young Speech Makers (for those aged 16 -21). There are two categories- Emerging Speech Makers (Years 9 -12) and Young Speech Makers (for those aged 16 -21). Closing dates for Emerging Speech Makers is 15th May and 6th June for Young Speech Makers. The winner of the District Young Speech Maker goes forward to the NZ finals. This year our annual Shortest Day Market will be held on Saturday 17th June in the Havelock Town Hall. Already there are bookings by people selling crafts, woodwork, books, plants. Nuggety Creek Farm will be selling pork products and there will be the usual sausage sizzle and raffles.

The money raised by the Lions will used for youth projects in the Pelorus area.
