Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time. Formed in Detroit, Michigan in 1915, it has since become one of the largest service organisations. Kiwanis partners with UNICEF in a worldwide service project aimed at saving 129 million mothers and their future babies from maternal and neonatal tetanus by the year 2015. We meet every 3rd Wednesday of the month at the RSA dining room, Haupapa St at 6.00 pm. You are welcome to come along and join us for an evening, no obligation, to see what we are all about. The club runs the NIWA BOP Science & Technology Fair in August each year, and the Teddy Bear's Picnic in Kuirau Park in February. We are involved in a number of other activities in the Rotorua region including KRB, the Red Cross Disaster Welfare Support Team and a childrens programs.
