Established in 2010, the US Marines Trust devotes itself to celebrating and preserving the history of the 15,000 US Marines stationed in the three local camps around Paekakarekei Celebrating annually with A Memorial Day , preserving the history of the settlement of 15,000 US Marines in three local camps and developing areas of historical significance in the Kapiti area relating to the US Marines stationed here. We have two projects that are currently in progress, signage in Queen Elizabeth Park and the restoration of Marine huts that will be placed near to the current Memorial area.
