Upper Hutt: Wider Community Connectivity

www.bmn.co.nz
is a favourite site of mine.
Blue Mountains Nurseries are in Tapanui (way down South) and have some wonderful plants to share.
Do visit their website to see if something catches your eye. I have made some purchases in recent years and am happy with their service.

Love the newsletters for ideas too.
Sadly ... my Himalayan Poppies didn't survive last year though. Perhaps we didn't get enough snow :-)

So Frustrating!

Upper Hutt: Wider Community Connectivity

Haven't heard back from HQ re ability to message and interact with ALL UH Neigbourhoods yet.

The recent press article re the new use of the former Westpac Bank site reminded me.
Scenario: I posed a question re the early use of this building.
A NEIGHBOUR from Silverstream responded. Simply because it was a 'Public Post' created by those who own Neighbourly. I was grateful for his reply and wished to Thank him personally and add a personal comment or two.
I am unable to do this as I can't PM him. (Haven't gone as far as referring to a phone book yet!!!)
Hence .... if you are also finding it inhibitive by not being able to message beyond you immediate neighbourhood ... let me know via this message so I can collate data for HQ.
Keep warm and safe,

More Upper Hutt History ...

Upper Hutt: Wider Community Connectivity

.... WOW! I have just finished reading:
"Reggie's Trombone" by Peter Hall.
Talk about "Turning Back the Clock"!
I was engrossed, as it brought back so many memories of Upper Hutt in the sixties.

Was also great to read many, NOW, familiar names (via Neighbourly) in the "Credits".
A big thanks to all those who contributed to ensure our past is not forgotten.

The graphic that represents this "Organisation" is evidently no longer valid. North/South, East/West (and everything in between) of the Hutt River is no longer accepted.
No longer are we able to reach from Pinehaven/ Silverstream to Kaitoke (or others outside our direct "Nearby Neighbours") to ensure we could all communicate when relating to Upper Hutt-wide issues.
I am unsure when this change occurred as I was NOT informed of any such move. I have my suspicions, but no evidence.
Currently it would seem the messages via the 'Organisation' now only go to the Nearby Neighbours of Timberlea!
MY REQUEST FROM WHOMEVER READS THIS MESSAGE:
Please post a reply simply stating your Neighbourly area.
This info may give me some data to look at. It will clarify in my mind as to whether or not I remain a Neighbourly member.
