We are a local community garden located in  Spreydon, Christchurch. Our goal is to support a sustainable neighbourhood and educate the community on how important their actions can be to improve their local environment.

One of our most popular services is the Christchurch South Community Waste Minimisation Project. This well organised waste processing service has been available to the community since 1999. We have weighed every bucket of food waste for the past 17 years, keep a waste audit of other materials recycled and subsequently have excellent local data. We recycle an average of 20 tonnes of community waste / year - 2 tonnes of this is food waste.

We are always looking for competant people for our board of trustees. Experience in the field is not required - just an ability to make decisions which fullfill our mission statement of 'supporting a sustainable neighbourhood'  and assist in their implementation.  There is a good collective spirit and work ethic on site. We believe in the value of what we do and gain satisfaction in providing this resource for the community.
