My family has a history of clogged arteries which despite being a virtuous non smoker I have been unable to escape.
So I ended up Saturday morning at Auckland Hospital for an angioplasty and a few stents. Procedure went well and I’m hassling the doctor to let me go home. Hopefully tomorrow and after a few days of working from home, I’ll be back at work.
A big thanks first to doctors, nurses and staff. They been really great, both professional and caring. They are a wonderful cross section of multicultural Auckland. It’s fantastic that in our country people get the urgent treatment they need and according to that need and not ability to pay.
Thanks also for the kind messages from so many people. Heartfelt appreciation!
The painting was done by my lovely granddaughter Brooklyn.

For too long, illegal roadside rubbish dumping has blighted our city, harmed our environment and burdened ratepayers with the costs of clean-up. I’m sick and tired of it, Aucklanders are sick and tired of it and I’m calling on you to help Council tackle the problem.
We have made it easier for people to report illegal dumping by setting up 0800 NODUMP – a dedicated phone line to make reporting easy.
We are also hiring additional enforcement staff, doubling the number of surveillance cameras in hotspot areas and speeding up the process to clean up dumped material in public areas.
People have been asking for better information on what they can do with their residential waste, so we have made this material more accessible through www.makethemostofwaste.co.nz... and improved the council website to make it easier to find out about inorganic collections (aucklandcouncil.govt.nz...)
I’m calling on our communities not to accept the irresponsible actions of a few individuals and cowboy commercial outfits, and to report illegal dumping.

It's your last chance to see it in New Zealand for the foreseeable future as the exhibition is heading overseas in the New Year.
Check out the video below for a sneak peak, including a live wētāpunga - New Zealand's endangered Giant Weta.

Big appreciation to the Trust that supported the first Otara Christmas Present Drop and helped bring some extra happiness into the lives of our kids there.
