Last year's first ever scholarship recipient was student Billie Hart, who wants to go on to study music at university and be a professional musician. “The scholarship has been an amazing opportunity for me, and given me lots of performing experience, which is a vital part of my musical education. It’s a great stepping stone into my studies next year.”

We're calling on local community groups in the local board areas of Takapuna-Devonport, Kaipātiki, Upper Harbour, and Hibiscus and Bays who are working to strengthen community networks or promoting general health and wellbeing of their communities. This programme is part of the Auckland Foundation’s annual granting and is enabled by the Tindall Foundation. Each year it supports specific initiatives across the whole Auckland region, and in 2016 a total of 43 charities and local community groups were successfully awarded grants.

So if you're a charitable organisation or not-for-profit group looking to improve these skills in the communities of Papatoetoe, Whitford, Flat Bush, Manukau Central and Clover Park, as well as parts of Wiri, Ōtara and Māngere, you could be eligible.
