Abbeyfield Western Bay of Plenty is an incorporated society, with charitable status (CC57847) and registered with Inland Revenue. We are a group of residents/volunteers who have identified a need for an Abbeyfield House in the Western Bay of Plenty. This is based on national, regional and local statistics and research. An Abbeyfield House offers company, security and nourishing meals for solo older people who do not have other options, such as sharing with families or a retirement village. Katikati’s Abbeyfield House will provide accommodation for 14 residents with modest or no assets who are capable of self-care. Abbeyfield Western Bay of Plenty are working with Abbeyfield NZ to establish an Abbeyfield House in Katikati. We have purchased a section in KatiKati and raising funds to build an Abbeyfield House for older people.
