Looking for some Gib board due to emergency at home.

Sylvia from Kaiapoi

Hello neighbours. Our hot water cylinder packed up two days ago. Right in the middle of lockdown fabulous. The cylinder was put in when this house was built in 1962! I can’t believe it’s lasted so long there’s always been families living in here with lots of kids. They knew how to make them back then didn’t they? We’ve decided to rip it all out and we have put gas hot water in the property. However removing the cylinder has left quite a few unsightly holes in the wall and the ceiling where the cylinder cupboard lived before. Does anybody have a piece of 10 mil 1200 square gib please? approximately we are happy to pay for it or we happy to trade… If you could leave it at your gate we will collect it… I just don’t want mice getting in the house! They have an open door policy at the moment. appreciate any help. if you look on my information you’ll find my phone number there thank you or please Messenger me. messages from this rarely het thru
thank you
Sylvia

What workplace change would you like to see most?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

This coming Monday is Labour Day in New Zealand. This public holiday marks when the eight-hour workday and 48-hour workweek became law in 1899. The idea started with Samuel Parnell, a carpenter in Wellington, who in 1840 refused to work more than eight hours a day. Since skilled workers were in short supply, his employer had to agree.

As more skilled workers arrived, employers tried to change working conditions, but Parnell and others kept pushing for better rights. In 1890, Parnell led a Labour Day parade of 1,500 people to promote the eight-hour day. He passed away shortly after, and nine years later, Labour Day became an official public holiday.

Do you feel that we have reached the ideal in working environments yet? What rights are you passionate about relating to employment? Share your thoughts!

Poll: Does grocery bagging affect where you shop?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

There's only a few differences between our larger chain supermarkets here in New Zealand. Having someone bag your groceries is one of them.

Does having your groceries packed for you at the checkout influence where you do your grocery shop? If so, tell us why.
