Manukau East Shopping Shuttle

Lindsay Upton from Manukau East Council of Social Services (MECOSS)

Playing it safe at Alert Level 2
The Manukau East Shopping Shuttle plays a crucial role in helping elderly and vulnerable people in our community stay independent and active.
Because many of our volunteer drivers and companion shoppers also fall into the 70+/vulnerable category, we are playing it safe by ensuring that we will;
1. Have our friendly drivers and companion shoppers usher people to their seats in order that we can achieve the intent of social distancing guidelines.
2. Only carry passengers who pre-book with us on 0800 632 677 (This will ensure we meet our obligations with contact tracing).
3. Refuse travel to any passenger presenting with flu-like symptoms.
4. High-touch surfaces on the vehicle will be regularly disinfected.

Poll: Should drivers retake the theory test every 10 years?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Drivers get where they need to go, but sometimes it seems that we are all abiding by different road rules (for example, the varying ways drivers indicate around a roundabout).
Do you think drivers should be required to take a quick driving theory test every 10 years?

Vote in the poll and share any road rules that you've seen bent! 😱
