THANK YOU

Denise Lee MP

Hi neighbours, just a quick thank you to those who came out last night to the Mt Wellington Masterplan Public Meeting.

65 locals passionately discussed the future of Mt Wellington and how we could foster better community outcomes through our businesses, retailers and residents. We heard loud and clear the current challenges facing Mt Wellington, including:

- No heart or hub
- Lack of quality community and recreational facilities
- Intensive housing developments with lack of infrastructure to match
- Traffic flow and little parking
- Little to no family friendly green spaces/parks
- Crime and safety, and more!

A special thank you to our guest speaker Chris Wilkinson from First Retail and to our newly established Mt Wellington Residents Association for your dedicated work. If you would like a summary copy of the meeting, please email deniseleemp@parliament.govt.nz.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
