Still looking to find a good home for a young, healthy cat who needs to be an only pet, and probably an indoor cat.
If you have room in your life for an indoor cat here's a little bit about Pixie:
She's just under two years old, fixed and fully vaccinated. She's a tiny grey tabby with bold black stripes.
She's very shy to start with but will start warming up to you about day three. After that she is inquisitive, vocal and playful. She is the Death Of Spiders and Bugs. She is an expert hider, if anyone comes to the front door she's a ghost.
In the afternoons she likes to curl up on your chest, provided you 'don't notice' her get up there. If you lay out a towel on the bed for her, she'll sometimes crawl under it to sleep.
She likes to play, and will demand you wiggle a toy for her to chase for long sessions. These sessions will only end when she can't breathe for panting. Favorites include: lazer dots, sunlight on a mirror, mousie on a string.
She takes treats well and was taking well to clicker training until we decided to focus on socializing her with our other cat. Picking training back up shouldn't be hard, at this point she recognizes come, up and down commands, but doesn't always respond.
She does not like being picked up and is very wary of any restraint, including any contact on the back of the neck. It is very difficult to give her medications (e.g. advocate flea and worm or any pill) because of this. She's never been outside, so at this point she probably won't cope well having access to the outside. She has been around older kids, but I can't swear she's any good with children.
We are re-homing her because after a year of trying she isn't able to tolerate our other cat, and is getting stressed out enough that a behaviorist has recommended anti-anxiety meds. Since the process of giving her the meds would stress her out even more, we think it would be better to find her a place where she doesn't need them at all.
Since she's not able to tolerate life with another cat, we think she probably won't do well with other pets, like dogs, as well? She's never seen a dog, and is shy enough that an introduction sounds risky.
Message me if you'd like more info or to arrange to come over for a chat.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
