Days Bay Wharf Refurbishment Update (5-Apr)
Posted on behalf of Bruce Hodgins (Strategic Adviser Hutt City)
Good afternoon.
You may have been wondering about the start-up of the Days Bay Wharf project, which I had advised was going to commence at the beginning of this week. This is to let you know that the project start has been pushed back four weeks to the 29 April for two reasons.
The subcontractor who is to build the new walkway is not available until early May and this is the first main piece of work to be done once the site establishment has been completed.
We decided that there was no point in establishing on site and then have a hiatus period with virtually nothing happening.
The second reason is that for safety reasons and before the project starts, we are going to need to relocate the north-bound bus stop. This will be undertaken as part of the traffic management plan but needs a bit more time to be worked through and approved.
Thanks for your patience.
