Penthouse Cinema- feeling peeved!
I'm feeling frustrated!
Yesterday I decided to attend the movie 'Tea with Dames' .I looked at the Penthouse website in the morning, and saw that there was a promotion on their site in big gold writing that all movies Mondays and Tuesdays were $10/ticket, -no fine print or exclusions noted.
I rounded up some mates, telling them of the offer and booked x 3 tickets by phone.
On paying at the cinema for the 2pm session, I was told the tickets were $16 each, asking for an explanation I was told that in fine print on the website it said the promotion didn't apply to public holidays. I paid the $16, but felt annoyed.
I then looked back at the website. The promotion had been removed!
I enquired again, to an older staff member as to what was the story? He replied it's a public holiday so the promotion doesn't apply'. I said but there was no evidence of that on the promotion and at the time I booked my tickets, and so now could I have $6 refunded for each ticket please???
He said he could only offer a full refund.
I didn't want a full refund and for my mates and I to miss out on the movie; we had made the effort to attend (all mums who had made childcare arrangements) and we wanted to view it. It wasn't the money that I really had an issue with, rather, the misleading advertising!
I asked if I should write into management to complain and with a smile, he said 'Yes!' I then asked if he was the manager.....and of course he responded 'Yes'.
I felt doubly peeved!!!!
We attended the movie, it was great!
I regularly attend movies at the Penthouse, and enjoy the ambiance etc, but I'll be in the 'know' next time, and I'll probably look to go at cinemas elsewhere.
And when I checked their website again this morning, guess what....
The Monday/ Tuesday promotion is back....no exclusions, no fine print!
Guess I'm just a sucker!
