Whitianga Tours and Taxi
LOCALLY OWNED (owner operator Joerg has lived in Whitianga for over 20 years) and opened in 2012, we offer local and regional Taxi Service, private Passenger Transport (incl. door-to-door Airport and City transfers, mainly Auckland) and Guided Private Tours for visitors and locals.
We are ACC approved, so you can request us for friendly, punctual, safe and very comfortable travel. Just mention us to your ACC case manager, and we'll sort out the rest.
Our TAXI SERVICE is more of a daytime and evening service rather than late night, and meant to help those without transport or those wanting to go out for a meal and drink but sensible enough not to drive.
Our fares are fixed and aimed to be the lowest in town (e.g. town to Wharekaho or Upper Centennial is $20, Town to Whitianga Airfield is $15, within town usually around $10 - correct as of February 2023).
Safety is a priority, and we adhere to driving and break time regulations, so we can not start early and drive until late, or finish late and start early the next day.
It is important to understand that this is a one-man business, and one can only be in one place at a time, and also not be available 24/7. It is therefore a good idea to plan ahead if possible and book our service in advance.
Most days we start at 9am and finish by 4pm, unless we have later bookings confirmed. Thursday to Saturday we work until late evening. We are closed on either Sunday or Monday.
We were once compared with Bluff Oysters, meaning the highest quality product is often only available at certain times and in limited supply.
Ask about our LOYALTY PROGRAMME if you think you might use the service more than once, it works like a coffee card and you get a free taxi ride once you have collected ten stamps.
In 2022 alone we have given away over $200 worth of FREE TAXI RIDES to our regular customers through this scheme!
Our TOURS are popular with mainly overseas visitors, and they cover locations such as Hahei Beach (Cathedral Cove), Hot Water Beach, Otama and Opito, Coromandel Town and Driving Creek Railway, Northern Beaches, but also Hobbiton, Waitomo Caves, Rotorua and Taupo.
We also connect with Hike&Bike in Coro Town who provide transport from there to the Coromandel Walkway and back.
